Are your clothes still wet after a drying cycle?

Are your clothes still wet after a drying cycle?

    Getting perfect drying results

Using a tumble dryer can bring many advantages to the management of your home, especially now that the cold season is coming. You don’t have to rely on the weather, it’s quick and it provides better hygiene than air drying. It may happen though, to find clothes still damp after a full drying cycle. Don’t worry, there’s no need to go straight for maintenance. In most cases, this might be due to wrong use of the machine.

Here’s a list of best practices to use your tumble dryer properly and get perfect results for your laundry.

    The right program

Choosing the right program is essential if you want to dry your clothes properly and provide the best care for them at the same time. The drying cycle should be chosen based on different factors such as the amount of the load, the type of garment, and fiber. For those who really don’t know where to start or lack time to sort out their laundry, H-DRY 500 and its Auto Care Cycle will come to the rescue. Thanks to this advanced algorithm, the machine calculates and auto-sets the most suitable program providing improved efficiency..

A good wash is a good dry

When clothes come out of the dryer still damp, the washer could be responsible. Using a wash setting with no spin cycle or with an insufficient one means that the clothes that enter the dryer will be too wet for a single drying cycle and running more than a drying cycle could lead to damage your garments. So if you want to get perfect results, don’t forget to add enough spin cycle to your washer, depending on the size and type of load and, if necessary, run an extra spin cycle.

    Balance is everything

Putting all your clothes in one load might seem like a good idea when you need to save some time, but it could actually turn out to be completely counterproductive. If every bit of space in the drum is covered, hot air will struggle to get enough space to build up and circulate throughout the load. Moreover, too much weight on the drum might lead to damages to the machine. Mixing small and big items is also not a good idea, as small items might get trapped in bigger ones and the air would consequently not reach them.

    Always check the Lint Screen

In order to function properly, a dryer needs to have air circulating freely in the drum. When your dryer is losing efficiency, it might be because something is getting in the way. One of the first things you should check is the lint screen: debris usually gets stuck on the filter and compromises the functioning of your dryer. Simply remove the filter and wipe it out with a paper towel after every load to get a perfect drying performance.

    Is air flowing freely?

A good airflow is the key for a dryer to work properly. If your clothes are still wet after a drying cycle it could mean that the Air Vent is clogged. To fix this problem, you will have to unplug the dryer and disconnect it from the vent. Once everything is disconnected, it’s time to vacuum the vent. If you are not confident with this operation, you can have it done by a professional.

Another aspect to consider is the place where you installed your machine. Whatever room you choose, it is very important that it has good ventilation. This means having the possibility to lead the dryer vent outside, and having a window or fan on the ceiling in order to prevent the room from becoming too hot and humid.

    Use some hacks

If you want an easy and quick fix for your problem, here’s a small hack for you. Take a dry towel and throw it inside the drum. It might seem silly, but it will act as moisture separator and help speed things add absorbing some of the moisture off the clothing.
