Boosting your health and well-being
When spending much of our time at home it is important to keep the indoor air clean, deodorized and purified for ours and our family’s health. Essential oils can be a great ally for this purpose: they can be useful to fight indoor pollution, but they also have therapeutic properties that can provide us with a relaxing atmosphere in our home.
Here are some of our favorite scents:
Lavender
Made from lavender flower buds, it is probably among the most renowned essential oils. It has a fresh and floral aroma and is often used for aromatherapy or bath salts as it promotes both physical and mental health and helps with stress or anxiety issues. You can mix pure lavender oil with some water to obtain a natural spray to be applied on any fiber. If you have trouble sleeping, you can put some of this mixture on your pillow, or you can add some oil drops to a warm bath and get a nice relaxing moment for yourself.
Eucalyptus
This essential oil is perfect for the winter season as its antibacterial and antiseptic properties help combat colds and flu symptoms. It also stimulates the immune system and is a good helping hand against lung inflammation. You can add a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil to a bowl of hot water and steam your face for a few minutes to take care of your sinus and decongest them.
Chamomille
These flowers are very famous for their calming properties and mild scent. Chamomille is great if you are looking for a calming effect on your body and mind, but also if you’re having trouble sleeping because of insomnia or anxiety. When you find yourself feeling a bit restless or low here you have the answer for a mood-lifting effect. It can also be used for skin health when suffering from issues such as eczema or dermatitis.
Bergamot
Bergamot is a citrus fruit with a very distinctive scent. The essential oil can be obtained from the peel of the fruit and it is widely used in aromatherapy. Its calming effects help relieve stress, reduce anxiety and promote relaxation of the nervous system.
Frankincense
Frankincense is a bit more expensive than the other essential oils, but it’s really worth the price. Its aroma is warm and spicy and it is usually used during yoga or meditation as it is said to increase concentration and calm the mind. These features are also a good solution for helping with psychological conditions such as anxiety issues, fear and panic attacks.
All these scents can be added to air purifiers and combine with their cleaning properties to provide you not only with a relaxing aroma and atmosphere, but also with a healthy environment. Hoover’s H-PURIFIER features a whole collection of essential oils called H-ESSENCE, and thanks to the hOn App you can choose the intensity of purification and aroma for a customized experience.
